Local Artist and Interior Designer, Natalie Pinson, was one of 54 artists selected for the WINGS in the City Project- a BJC initiative that was created to raise money for their Pediatric Palliative Care & Hospice program in 2011. Each artist decorated a 4' X 5' Butterfly that was then displayed around the St Louis area. That Spring, her butterfly- entitled "TRANSFORMATION"- was featured in front of the Old Court House at Kiener Plaza.
In the Fall of 2011, "TRANSFORMATION" found its permanent home at The Delta Gamma Center- a Center for Children with Visual Impairments and their families. Noted for its whimsical colors and interesting textures- "TRANSFORMATION" now plays an active part in the center's Children's Garden. September 9th, 2011 marked a dedication ceremony as the piece was unvealed to allow little ones to "feel and explore" while parents and staff members enjoy the sculpture visually as well.
